For My Brother

My brother would like to know when his radish and lettuce are ready to be harvested.  Here are some pictures for him:

Not Ready

Lettuce, too little.

Radish, not quite ready.

Ready:

This radish is definitely ready, but it will keep
growing if you leave it there.

Most of this lettuce is ready, once it gets big like the
plant on the right, you can eat it!

Some ways you can use your veggies:

Slice it up and put it in a salad with your lettuce.
Slice up the radish and mix it with a little lemon juice.
Feed all the radish plus the leaves to your bunny, if you
have a bunny.

Bulbs

I planted the bulbs in the back corner near the trunk garden today.
They are under the peach/apricot tree.
If they bloom in the spring, I will add some soil mates to make
it look really pretty.  Their soil mates are mums and pansies.

Bulbs

I bought some bulbs for half price at Home Depot.  I'm storing them in my bathroom near the door to my deck.  This way I'll be inspired to go out soon and plant them.

I can't wait to bury them deep into the cold, dark ground where
they'll sit and sit and sit and sit until spring.

Hopefully they'll bloom then.

Autumn

I worked a bit this weekend in the backyard.  I took a lot of pictures today, but I'm only going to post a few right now.  I hope to post more later.  I love writing my thoughts down, but its hard when you are too tired.  Seems to be a trend in my blogs.  Oh well.

My Morning Glory fence is doing well.  I will
plant more starters soon.  They are thriving in their
little dirt bags and styrofoam cups.

The brick area looks bare.  I pulled out a big
plant that didn't look very good anymore and the
pear tree has been gone for awhile.  I will
follow my heart with this area all Autumn long.
