Morning Glory

The morning glory is getting ready to travel
up and wrap itself around our dead painted tree!

Tarragon

Oliver got these tiny tarragon plants at
the Earth Day Fair in Balboa Park.
We planted them here.  Hopefully
they flourish.  They are a pretty strong plant.

Shotgun

I love finding neat treasures in our yard.  Most of the time its the plants and flowers that show up during the different seasons, sometimes its the animals, and occasionally its just something strange.

Like this shotgun I found buried behind my shed.

My shed.

A picture of the gun after I removed some
of the dirt.  First I spied just the end of it,
I brushed some of the dirt away and read
"Remington."  Hmmm.  That kind of scared
me for a second!

I started to dig it out and then stopped.
I didn't want anything to happen and
I don't know a lot about guns.

So, I called the police to have them take it away.
I didn't want it to be in my backyard when my
daycare kids were playing back there.

Two nice police officers came and dug the rest out.

Scary!!!

Now we wonder if there is anything else back there.
We started to dig a little.  First taking out the old
pallet.  Maybe we will dig more.  Oliver thinks
he will find buried money!  That would be fun!

But in the meantime, I'm going to go to the Escondido library soon to research more about my neighborhood.  Maybe I can uncover some kind of secret!

Tomatoes

The tomato plants are growing fast and strong!  We can't wait to eat some yummy tomatoes!

Cottage Garden

My pretty cottage garden didn't work so well.  Something ate all the flowers except the white ones.  I added some pretty purple flowers this weekend and plan to add a few more so they spread.  I still like it though.

Dirtbags

My dirtbags are sprouting!

More Seeds

I planted some more seeds for our Spring garden.  I want to kind of just pack in the veggies and harvest a lot!  I wrote out the list of what I planted, its in my garden box.  Those dirtbags look kind of funny, but I used them for a different project and instead of wasting the bags, I am going to try and grow something in them!  Hopefully they are turn out to be helpful!
