Bulbs

I bought some bulbs for half price at Home Depot.  I'm storing them in my bathroom near the door to my deck.  This way I'll be inspired to go out soon and plant them.

I can't wait to bury them deep into the cold, dark ground where
they'll sit and sit and sit and sit until spring.

Hopefully they'll bloom then.

Autumn

I worked a bit this weekend in the backyard.  I took a lot of pictures today, but I'm only going to post a few right now.  I hope to post more later.  I love writing my thoughts down, but its hard when you are too tired.  Seems to be a trend in my blogs.  Oh well.

My Morning Glory fence is doing well.  I will
plant more starters soon.  They are thriving in their
little dirt bags and styrofoam cups.

The brick area looks bare.  I pulled out a big
plant that didn't look very good anymore and the
pear tree has been gone for awhile.  I will
follow my heart with this area all Autumn long.

Pokes

On my quiet drive to work this morning, I remembered something about my dirtbags.  I forgot to poke them with holes so the water drains!  Oops!  I stabbed them real quick this evening with one of those cute little birds that I put on the dirtbags.  I'm hoping for some pretty morning glory.  Its really taking off on my fence and I think fall is the perfect time to help get it established.

Fall Starters

I have lots of sprouts in my starters!  Unfortunately
I had to buy styrofoam cups to plant more seeds.

Lots of radish, to feel like a successful gardener.

My goal is to actually plant the carrots
on a little hill.

I had these bags leftover so I used them.

Fall Planting

I've finally got most of my fall starters!  I love fall planting, lots of greens!  Yum!

My set-up tonight in my bathroom.  Oliver was in the bath
so I had to stay close.  Busy busy.

Here is what I planted so far and how many
rows of starters.  I need more containers, I
still have about 6 more seed packets.

I'll have to ask Mom and Jess if they have any laying around.

Neighborhood

If you follow your heart in my backyard to the back fence you will meet my hairdresser or her husband who is sometimes doing yard work down on that part of their property.  Or their dogs or their beautiful daughters.  They are all so nice!

So, here is her little gem of a hair salon:

Meow.

On the topic of the winery and two homes, Andrea said she thinks they have both been sold.  At least that is what she heard.  We both still have a whole bunch of ideas for the winery.  Hers are all boutiquey and weddingly, mine are a little more community based- community garden/literacy center/farmer's market/coffee shop kind of idea.  I was outside with Irma and Mari today- Sergio's wife and daughter and they loved my idea.

I'm glad I live on a street of dreamers.
