Shotgun

I love finding neat treasures in our yard.  Most of the time its the plants and flowers that show up during the different seasons, sometimes its the animals, and occasionally its just something strange.

Like this shotgun I found buried behind my shed.

My shed.

A picture of the gun after I removed some
of the dirt.  First I spied just the end of it,
I brushed some of the dirt away and read
"Remington."  Hmmm.  That kind of scared
me for a second!

I started to dig it out and then stopped.
I didn't want anything to happen and
I don't know a lot about guns.

So, I called the police to have them take it away.
I didn't want it to be in my backyard when my
daycare kids were playing back there.

Two nice police officers came and dug the rest out.

Scary!!!

Now we wonder if there is anything else back there.
We started to dig a little.  First taking out the old
pallet.  Maybe we will dig more.  Oliver thinks
he will find buried money!  That would be fun!

But in the meantime, I'm going to go to the Escondido library soon to research more about my neighborhood.  Maybe I can uncover some kind of secret!
